Open Play
Beat the summer heat in the cozy yet air conditioned hive while babies play and caregivers can chat! Lots of play set ups for infants, babies, crawlers, and early walkers as well as different spaces for parents and caregivers to spend time. The goal of The Apiary is to be a third space where children can play and families can build community. The community play space is best suited for ages 0-2ish but older siblings are known to make their own fun! We just ask that older kiddos be mindful of the tiny ones on the floor.

Hive Hangs
A combination of structured entertainment and imaginative play over 90 minutes for older babies and younger toddlers led by Alyssa, a former special education teacher. Examples of a gathering include story time, music, sensory play, and open play to follow with whatever toys they choose. The structured portion of this time will meet children where they are--no need to sit still or quiet, just bee.

Ba Bees in Motion
(baby/toddler)
Classes designed to help you learn strategies and techniques to teach ba-bee to move mindfully and purposefully. Understanding and supporting baby’s movement sets a strong foundation to meet developmental milestones as well as integrating reflexes at the developmentally appropriate times. Alyssa has experience in Craniosacral Therapy, Infant Reflex Integration, Infant Massage, and Intraoral Assessment and will share information that helps babies feel good in their bodies. Common props will be used to show stretches, positions, and touch techniques so parents can use this information in their home settings. While there is no age restriction, this may be most beneficial for pre-walkers.

The Apiary has been lovingly created and curated for infants, babies, and toddlers around 2(ish) years old. There are a plethora of props, toys, and equipment you may or may not have at home but we find positively affect baby's development and are happy to share with you. An hour of open play is built in to the price of each group as we hope you will continue to enjoy our space. You can use our resources in the common room, snuggle up on our couch with drinks+snacks we offer, or take some time in the private quiet room where you can center yourself with or without baby. Ideally you'll have the time to stroll around the harbor to drink, shop, dine, and enjoy the setting for a walk.
